I thank Fiat for their involvement. IMHO since they became involved their quality has gone up to the top of the big 3. Sales figures show the improvement.
As I posted before it is noticeable here in Australia. Jeep quality has definitely improved to being acceptable.IVECO the truck maker has improved. So overall more quality improvements. - MM49Explorer

We in fact have just bailed out Fiat, Fiat's bond rating is below junk, now called garbage. Fiat has to pay 2/3 of the salary to workers they laid off.
Most of the stock that Fiat just acquired was from the unions, who were given the stock by the Govt.(just like GM), That stock was stolen from American stock holders who played by the rules and got shafted, just like Chryslers bond holders who got shafted like the GM bond holders.
The only ones making out are the unions and Fiat, and that will only be temporary.
Just like GM, Chrysler should have gone through a regular bankruptcy, the rule of law would have been upheld, the Govt. would not have lost money, because they would not have been involved and if the 2 companies were reorganized correctly, they would have emerged stronger. As it stands now, we have just kicked the can down the road, the rule of law has been preempted and the tax payers and the bond holders who believed in the rule of law got shafted.
I love you internet BS artist's. All of Chrysler's stock was converted to Mercedes Bendz stock. No one lost any money on Chrysler stock. Mercedes paid a premium price for the stock.

And Jeep will be a large part of European manufacturing??
I would say so. I think Sergio wants IVECO to work on some new Models, like VW is getting MAN Trucks to do its Crafter. VW is splitting from Mercedes. They shared the Sprinter platform for both companies products. - mayo30ExplorerAnd Jeep will be a large part of European manufacturing??
- gmcsmokeExplorerand here I thought toyota would be the death of the big three

Thanks Fiat for taking things over, keep in mind you can't polish S#@T.
Just jealous cause Ram out sells his GM twins in CN. - travelnutzExplorer IIWhat makes you think that Fiat and Chrysler wouldn't be merger together as Fiat would own both 100%. You'd best re-read the wordings so as not to be so fooled!
The conglomerate funds would be used by the sole control for the European development and to further moving production to Mexico and neither would be employing any production workers in the USA or Canada. Sole means "ONE" as in the controller of all! Read the words and weep! - wilber1Explorer

Times article
Looks like a good thing. An AP article I read stated that part of the agreement is Chrysler's cash can't be used for Fiat operations unless the companies are merged, so Fiat can't just use Chrysler as a cash cow then cut it loose like Daimler.
