"I am in no way comparing it to a three quarter ton pickup, diesel or gas". My treat was getting the extra 700 pounds of payload for free with the V-8. I wanted the V-8 and the Selectshift transmission and got the payload boost for nothing. I do not plan on loading the F-150 with anything close to 2,300 pounds but I don't have to leave a kid at home to stay under my GVWR like some do either. I am not suggesting that it would be my vehicle of choice for a truck camper or fifth wheel. Just a nice cushion with my travel trailer. I have owned several HD pickups when needed.
