Apologies if there was any misunderstanding. It is clear that you (and others here) place these vehicles in very different categories.
I was referring to how similar payload/tow numbers can be between a 1/2 and 3/4 ton.
For the casual observer, just looking at the payload numbers between the two, they would seem more similar on paper than in reality.
Hence my own confusion as to how these numbers are really calculated.
