Sounds like a 301a XLT with 6.5 bed, and no options. When I was shopping for a replacement to my 2014 I tested an XLT 5.0 and it had a 2200# payload. Prior to that, I had tested a used 2015 F150 Powerstroke. It had 2000# payload.
I settled on a 16 Lariat 501a with 1580# payload. It had 110# more payload than the 14 did with more options.
The only drawback, it does not handle as well as the 14 did towing the same trailer, but I think I found the issue, and hope that a new hitch will fix it.
