There is nothing but red dye in the fuel. After burning there is nothing left. Anyone who tells you different needs to read up on it. Think for a minute, if there was a residue after burning, how long would cats and dpf's last before being plugged? And yes, they are retrofitting them to off road equipment.

Just make shure you do not fill the tank to quickly I have a friend that has a 2001 Ford and used the truck lanes and bent the Gas Guage float sendng unit in the tank.

As mentioned by some other users, you will need to enter a "control number" every time you use the RV Plus card. This is basically the same as a PIN and ensures that you are the one in "control" of your card. When you set up the account you were issued a random control number, however, this can easily be changed to any number that you would like. Hello all!

Most of these replies are pretty spot on! Truck Diesel and reefer are exactly the same product and come from the same tank. One of the biggest differences is that the reefer transaction is capped at $150 while your truck diesel transaction is not. On tractor trailer rigs, since the refrigeration fuel tank, "reefer unit," is significantly smaller, the transaction is limited.

Also, as mentioned in one of the previous posts, the tax implications are different for "reefer" fuel; however the pumps do not actually change the price at the time of the transaction, rather the trucking company must reconcile this tax at a later date.

So bottom line for the RV customer is there is really no difference, as you'll pay the same price per gallon regardless of what you choose. That being said, always choose Tractor Fuel to avoid any type of limitation on the transaction.

Sounds like you're good to go! Feel free to continue to wear out those "truck lanes." It is definitely the fastest way to fill up with diesel, and with your RV Plus Card, it's a breeze!

Red Diesel (non road or Ag fuel(farm tractors etc...), home heating, etc...) is Red dyed and not road taxed. There are random check points set up in some Ag states to ensure people don't cheat. They normally just stick a clear tube in the tank and pipette a sample to see.

Reefer fuel comes from the same tank as the regular diesel and is for the engine on the refrigerated trailer. Like "Red Diesel" it is not taxed the same as road fuel. It just tells the pump if it needs to add the sales tax. You also get prompted for trailer and hours for the reefer unit.

Semi's pay their road taxes quarterly as part of the IFTA system. It's mostly an accounting tool to separate the reefer fuel on the fuel receipt. If you look on your fuel receipt it will normally have a "no visible dye" statement on it.
