Are these part of the first 20,000 production trucks meant for the EPA and other testing?
Or are these actually heading to the dealers?
I ask that because I still haven't heard any EPA numbers on the f150.
They are going to the crusher

Hey transamz9 - does your Ram still have fenders or have they rusted off already? jk!
My '05 Ram's body and frame literally still looks as good as it did the day I drove it home 9 years ago. Do you want me to show you some pictures of a 2005 ford I take care of at work?
Seriously, I'm glad to see Ford go with the aluminum. It's progress in my opinion. I believe it will make insurance rates a little high at first but once it gets going and more shops learn to work with it and repair it things will even back out. I see the automakers eventually going to more plastics for structural parts on these trucks. Cars have been using it for a while now.
I cannot see repairing a damaged aluminum frame. I see a lot of either total losses or frame replacement. Aluminum isn't going to be as easily repaired/straightened as a steel frame would as it would lose a lot more structural integrity. - buddyIamExplorerAre these part of the first 20,000 production trucks meant for the EPA and other testing?

Scrap? That F150 should recycle like a beer can ;) BTW does it require a deposit? :) - gijoecamExplorer

The first 2015 F150 rolled off the assembly line this morning.
Except they've been rolling off the assembly line in Dearborn now for roughly 9 months or so in smaller spurts...
But today was the first day of full-on production for it.
Scrap is not really a concern.... Not sure what they're talking about. - NC_HaulerExplorer

I won't be needing any pictures. Got it covered already. All I need is to do is a side by side comparison of my 2002 Ford and 2000 Dodge. I had to install floor drains in my Chevy Blazer to drain the water out every time it rained.nickthehunter wrote:

How far we going back??? Though we're talking 2015 Ford F150..we're back to an 02 Ford and a 2000 Ram...I remember an International Scout my dad owned, he bought it brand in 74 I believe...think that was the fastest I ever saw a brand new vehicle get "rusty"... He owned 2 of them before he realized they seem to start rusting through in no time. - nickthehunterNomad III
