- Outstanding... And "Made in the USA". :B
BTW... The current F150 is the most American made vehicle. Wonder how the new '15 will rate.

Are these part of the first 20,000 production trucks meant for the EPA and other testing?
Or are these actually heading to the dealers?
I ask that because I still haven't heard any EPA numbers on the f150.
Supposedly, this is the start of regular production.
they've been running test models for a while, but evidently the one rolling off the line today is destined for a dealership.
In his interview on CNBC this morning, Ford CEO Mark Fields mentioned the F150's EPA fuel economy figures would be out 'shortly'. - FordloverExplorer

Just for the record, if it had been a Ram or Chevy in the post I would have posted the same thing. At the end of my post notice it says "jk" which means "Just Kidding".
I don't know what king of reaction the op was wanting with this thread but okay, YAY!!! Ford made a new F150!!! I'm Jumping up and down now......I do the same thing when all the automakers make a new model.
Transamz9...I knew you were "jk"....hey, was the rest of it about you "jumping up and down" scarcasm?:B
HAHAHAHA!!!! Yes!
Now, let's talk about the first F150 that rolled off the new line so we don't look like an a## of some sort.

The units you are seeing now are pre-production models. They are very close to production, but technically still pre-production. Ford plans to produce about 20,000 for evaluation purposes. Probably for EPA testing, IIHS/NHTSA crash testing, and manufacturing validation of the Dearborn plant. Ensure that fit and finish are good and that their manufacturing process is up to their standards like ISO 9001 or whatever it is. - fatmanobxExplorerOur local dealer already has one...for a couple of weeks now. I cannot see repairing a damaged aluminum frame. I see a lot of either total losses or frame replacement. Aluminum isn't going to be as easily repaired/straightened as a steel frame would as it would lose a lot more structural integrity.
Good thing the frames are steel then! - gijoecamExplorer

The first 2015 F150 rolled off the assembly line this morning.
Except they've been rolling off the assembly line in Dearborn now for roughly 9 months or so in smaller spurts...
But today was the first day of full-on production for it.
Scrap is not really a concern.... Not sure what they're talking about.
You are off a bit ,plant went down end of aug. 8 weeks to retool

Didn't read the link, but, wrong. The body shop went down to retool (I was working next door at stamping... they literally piled all the old automation outside and heaped it into roll-off dumpsters) but they have been running the bodies through paint and final assembly for months. - steve-n-vickiExplorerthe frame is steel , only the body is aluminum
