As usual you have the 3 biggest Ford bashers doing their thing on every Ford post. Nothing new here.
Dang it - I thought I was in the top three. - Bird_FreakExplorer IIAs usual you have the 3 biggest Ford bashers doing their thing on every Ford post. Nothing new here.

I would suggest you do some reading on the Powerstroke diesel forums. Yesterday I pulled up next to a F-550 garbage roll off container truck at a traffic light. I didn't pay much attention to the truck at first and judging by the noise it was making I assumed it was a 6.0L diesel. The light turned out to be especially long so I glanced over and was shocked to see it was a newer F-550 with a 6.7L diesel. When he took off the noise decreased but was definitely still there. It sounded like severe top end noise like lifters, etc.
I Googled the issue later and found out it is a very common issue that Ford considers normal. Buyer beware and this is coming from one that owned 3 Fords over the last 20 years including a 7.3L and 6.0L diesel.
iMO there are much better diesel options out there.
Wow! You must be an amazing mechanic. You identified an issue on a truck that you don't own based on noise you heard at a stop light. Let 6.7 PS owners answer the OP's question since we actually have everyday experience. BTW, I've owned both and I'm actually having less issues with my PS than I did with my Cummins. - 45RicochetExplorer

I had a 2011 that was trouble free. Then I went back to Ram and then just a couple weeks ago I bought a new 2016 F350 dually. I mainly missed the better transmission in the ford but the new dually rides better than my 2012 ram dually did.
I think you just took over NChauler's title of most trucks owned in the last 5 years. :B - spoon059Explorer II

The new Bosch fuel pump seems to have much better reliability than the original version used by both Ford and GM.

...and VW, and Audi and....
What is your point? VW and Audi don't make 1 ton trucks. I was providing factual information to answer the OP's question.
By the way, I was complementing Ford for recognizing a problem with a 3rd party part and working to improve reliability. - alexleblancExplorer3 years and nearly 80k on mine, been very pleased with it up to date. Tows my previous 10k bumper pull and now my new fifth wheel with ease and I've got the lowly 3.31 gears at that.
- 1ofmanyExplorerFigured there would be a couple of negative comments from owners of other brands....
- 4x4ordExplorer IIII had an '11 Powerstroke and was extremely impressed with the entire truck. Sold it and bought a 2016 Powerstroke. The new Powerstrokes are amazing but I think the Duramax and Cummins are very good engines as well.

I'd surely go for the 15 and newer Fords. They've made some changes to the turbo, exhaust braking, and other features that vastly improve it from the 2011-2014 models.
