Ford Diesel 6.0 really that bad?

Iirc the Ford Remans are superior to the generic Remans.

An injector rebuild is not a simple parts swap. Ther are coatings and electronics that only Ford can get... I'm with Brian on this. If you want an 03-07 Ford... Get a V10. They are Superior motors. They are superior to the 6.0 and the 6.4 of the same years..

...good decision...BTDT...even after spending thousands on "bulletproofing, a low mileage turbo spit out a small piece of metal and the POS was down again...

Yea they had problems, but they are all fixable. It only cost money. After market EGR cooler, oil cooler, head studs and not bolts. Hot dirty oil causes injector problems. Use Ford oil filters on the 6.0 not an after market ones. Stock EGR and oil coolers plug up. Another thing that helps the oil cooler from plugging is a coolent filer

Some were good and some were bad. I had a 2004 F350 and kept it for nine years and had well over 100K on the clock when I traded for my 2011 Dodge 3500. I bought the Ford new and NEVER had any of the common ailments that are reported all over the Internet. I maintained it meticulously and it run bone stock. No chips, etc. If I knew that a 6.0L was maintained the way mine was from the start I would consider another one.

Ford uses remans as well now FYI, local ford dealer said unless you want to wait a month plus for new to come in they don't even stock them anymore. Its just making sure you get good reman injectors. I did my injectors in September 2014, 5600 hours on the motor and they where getting a little cranky. Yes the truck idled a lot before I got it, and I am not the best at shutting her down either depending on what I am doing.
