A 30 foot TT behind a 150 anything is certainally opening you up for some unpleasant trips. The huge sail you call a TT can move even the biggest of trucks around in the right situation. Personally I would get a 2500 gas motor for the added stability, stiffer springs, better tires, etc.
I don't necessarily agree with that. I pull a 33 foot TT (29 foot living space) with my F150. As long as you're setup properly and within the weight limits of the TV, then there's no reason a 1/2 ton can't do the job. My F150 has the 2.7 EB and it tows better than my last F150 that had the V8. There's definitely no lack of power. Sure, I feel the odd bit of sway, but nothing that will make your palms sweat.
