I am not certain but look like Costco is putting in diesel at their pumps. So any diesel is sign of the times.
Wether it is Ford or whom ever looks like gas and diesel will soon be in for an extreme ride.
We have 4 Costco stores within 20 minutes of us. One of them recently completely re-did their fuel station, added more pumps, and now offer diesel at every pump. However, none of the other 3 Costco stores offer diesel fuel. - Perrysburg_DodgExplorerOur Costco has had diesel pumps since they opened.

Towing performance and economy of the 3.0 diesel is fantastic. 426,000 on mine transporting TTs & boats. Where it’s not great is towing something that is too big for the half ton platform. But if a guy can’t figure that out I don’t know how to help him. Maybe let his wife do the truck buying & driving.
I feel bad for the PA citizens as they have the highest most ideologically taxed diesel in the country. Even worse than Commiefornia. (Don’t get me wrong I love Cali) As a former “progressive” leader said elections have consequences. At least the good folks of PA repaid him for trying to ship their cleaned coal business or jobs to China for their unscubed coal by not electing his ideological successor. Aka the un-Indicted fellon.
426k? Didn't you replace the engine at 3XXk miles? - tomman58ExplorerI am not certain but look like Costco is putting in diesel at their pumps. So any diesel is sign of the times.

Well, looks like my "garbage" opinion has been vindicated, ergo the TFL test. Sorry diesel fanboys, it is what it is. Recall that the F150 is the dominant half ton on that test with the gas engine.
not "garbage", its an early production model that most likely has been driven hard, put away wet and in the real world has had an issue come up - I'm sure it will be fixed and if its something more serious a recall or update will be done.
with that attitude, every vehicle out there should be considered junk. - HybridhunterExplorer

Wow, were do I start. One, if gas engines are so great tell me why big trucks run diesels?
Two, I love driving my truck, there is no difference in the way a diesel equipped truck drives then a gas.
Three, noisy????? I can't here my truck run and when you walk by it you can hardly tell it is a diesel.
Four, stinky????? you can not smell any diesel fumes from a modern DPF equipped truck what so ever. A deleted truck yes but sorry DPF trucks give off no diesel smell what so ever. Gas vehicles should be so clean. I hate running behind any Ecoboost vehicle as they stink to high heaven!
Seems to be the anti diesel crowd have exaggerated claims against diesel. No wonder diesel struggles in the US, too much irrational fear and loathing
So, as a co-owner of a company that runs 75% diesel powertrains, I am an anti diesel guy? Sounds logical lol.
And for the record, they all emit the same smell when running in cold weather. - HybridhunterExplorerWell, looks like my "garbage" opinion has been vindicated, ergo the TFL test. Sorry diesel fanboys, it is what it is. Recall that the F150 is the dominant half ton on that test with the gas engine.

I also understand the reasoning behind the new tiny diesels and that is fuel economy, not towing performance. With the future fuel economy standards for light trucks something had to be done. What is troubling is the fools in Harrisburg, PA taxing diesel fuel at a much higher rate than gasoline and discouraging purchase of more efficient vehicles.
- Ralph_CramdenExplorer IIIf current trends continue here in PA, land of the highest fuel taxes on the planet, I doubt any of the half ton trucks with small diesels are going to be big sellers.......I drove past Pilot yesterday and diesel was 3.75/9 at 1:00PM, came back past at 1:30PM and the big digital numbers up in the clouds were at 3.81/9. As a comparison reg unleaded gas is at $3.03/9. I think this is the year those prices don't start heading south right away after the holiday. I base that on the price of steel used in our business, which is and has been on a steady upswing. Those prices typically stay neck and neck with fuel prices, and our brokers tell us to not expect a downward or even a stabilizing trend with metal for a few years. My thoughts are these fuel prices are here to stay for awhile. The upside is the RV Industry is going to get their clock cleaning industry slowdown if these prices hold and that may equate to some resemblance of quality assurance.....but I doubt it lol.
