I know a bigger truck will do a better job but, will this heavy half be safe with say, 8500# ready to go don the road? I tow slow (60mph) and don't plan on hitting any mountians.
Not looking for mass approval. Just opinions. I've seen some pretty questionable combos in the past and I don't want to fool myself into thinking I'm not one of them.
Got to love this can I Max out the Max F150 and still be safe, I will put Bags and Timbren's. 4,000# front axle 4,800 rear axle, I want to see you get 8,500# on that truck with out overloading the 4,800# rear axle. your GVWR is 93% of the axle ratings.
I do tow over GVWR, but well with in both axle ratings.
Do your self a big favor and get a F250, and be done with it.
So you think 1100# (13% of 8500) on the tounge will be over the rear axle rating of 4800#?
I didn't say anything about bags or such. I'm not being argumentative. I'm pretty new here and from everything I've read the 1/2 tons are payload limited. Just thought this payload package would allow you to approach the tow limits with a TT.
