- shepstoneExplorerUsing the Alpine nav and miles to empty on the dash I can go 5 hrs between fillups when towing at 60 mph Im not sure why there is an idea that the 6.2 gasser cant pass a gas station?? Most times I only fill up twice a day when towing from 8- 6 mostly continuously except stopping for the occasional pee stop and 1/2hr lunch break, all the 6.2's have 35 gal tank no matter what cab and box configuration at least on the 11-16 M.Y
- LynnmorExplorer IIMy current CC SB had a 26 gallons tank that I replaced with a 50 gallon Titan tank, love it. Ford still didn't get it right with the 2017 CC SB, it is 34 gallon and I am spoiled with the large tank. So if I want to trade I'll have to wait to see what Titan comes up with.
- Grit_dogTrailblazerSoCal, don't be takin sense, we're talking bladder capacity here!
Even more so for gas trucks, this is huge! My 6.2 can't pass a gas station if I'm towing. With 48 gal I could pass at least one! - Grit_dogTrailblazerSeems new features are always debated and there's plenty of "mandatory" features I could easily do without and much prefer not to have.
A bigger fuel tank is NOT one of those features!
It's win/win. If you don't want it and like the measly 26 gal tanks in some of the older HD trucks because your bladder fills quicker than the tank empties and you're afraid to pee on the side of the road, fill it half way! If you want to pack some security or cheap fuel at the last fillip, run the pump til it kicks off.
Score a big one for the blue oval! - wnjjExplorer II

Having a 5 gal DEF tank to begin with was pure stupidity. DEF sells mostly in 2.5 gal quantities. Even if you run it near perfect empty, you always have left over to stick in your garage and wait a few weeks to add in. (If you like topping off your tanks - which I do)
So isn't 7.5 gal the same issue with 2.5 gal quantities? - patriotgruntExplorerAs a prepper, I love the extra capacity. You never know when you'll need the extra mileage in an emergency.

- Dave_H_MExplorer II:S Duuh, SoCal finally put it in real world figures. Where is the beef.
As far as you 6.2 gas jockies and your small tanks. i got an F250. 2012, short box 2WD crew cab and it has a 37 gal tank from the factory? Right or wrong? - BeakerExplorer
Big difference between stopping and stopping for fuel. I would much rather stop at larger rest areas for a leg stretch than a busy truck stop.
Just because you have the extra fuel doesn't mean you're not going to stop, it just changes where you going to stop.
And that is worth it, especially when having dogs.
Once drove 700 miles in a (long)day and none of the stops were at gas stations. - dodge_guyExplorer III love my factory 44 gallon tank. If I wanted to push it that gives me a 300 mile range at 40 gallons 6 hours of driving! That's a bit much non stop So I stop around 2-3 hours in and top off and empty the personal black tank! ;) Even my old 97 Dodge conv. van had a 35 gallon tank. It`s about time Ford stepped up!
