I have a few family members that put well over 300k on 6.0L diesels. One was bullet proofed and the other tuned after the warranty was up. I would take a 6.0 between the those two especially since it is a 2006 and most of the issues with the 6.0L were resolved by then.
I don't want this to be a 6.0 discussion specifically, but perhaps this this aspect needs some clarification, as I have come to understand it. I read the entire lawsuit between IH and Ford. It was found in the paperwork, and it specifically discussed it, that the late model 6.0's were not statistically more reliable. The reason was due to the fact that the engineering issues that plagued the engine were not addressed and could not be addressed with minor updates but required redesigning of the engine. This is paraphrasing as I don't recall the exact wording, but that is the jist of it.
