The OP is considering a Ram 2500 with the 5.7 Hemi. To the OP, if you are considering the Ford figure on spending 5K minimum to make it reliable, but it will pull your trailer great. The Hemi will pull it OK but scream like a mashed cat on the hills. If you have the scratch to spend a little (or a lot) more, look for a pre-emissions Ram (before 2008) with the Cummins.
