I have a few family members that put well over 300k on 6.0L diesels. One was bullet proofed and the other tuned after the warranty was up. I would take a 6.0 between the those two especially since it is a 2006 and most of the issues with the 6.0L were resolved by then.
100% agree. The 05 and newer 6.0s are great trucks and have a far higher GVWR than GM or Dodge's of the same vintage. V strong 5 speed auto too.
Please put the pipe down before typing, someone might actually take your advice.
No kidding. This is right up there with the most incorrect information I've read on this forum. The Super Duty truck is great but the 6.0L engine is far from it. I will put it out there for anyone to name any other engine in history that had over $1B in warranty claims (yes the $1 billion dollar figure is correct).....In addition to my own poor experience we had many 6.0L trucks at my work in model years 2003-2007 and although they seemed ok at first they all became huge money pits and were replaced early. As an example, we had a 2006 E450 cutaway van with 60k miles on it that cost $26k in repairs in the last 2 years of service. It was downright ridiculous.
