Never seen an ambulance in a GM body "UP HERE". All Fords.
Used to be that way "down here" in Central Fl., but the times they are a' changin'. I'm seeing more and more Ram 4500 based ambulances. Even the local county operated service where I live is replacing their Fords with Ram based rigs. The fire dept. I used to work for is replacing their fleet of Navistar and Freightliner based units with Ram based units, but I suspect that is more of a cost saving measure than anything (those "real" MDT chassis were more expensive). The Navistar and Freightliner chassis held up very well, easily logging over 100,000 miles or more on them, and were typically run as front line units for 5 years before rotation to reserve status or replacement.
