In cases of recalls for items that have been identified as factory defective, I think the warranties should be greatly extended both in time and mileage if no repair is intended by the manufacturer. That warranty should also be transferable to new owners to help offset owners from loss of value. I own a Ford 6.0 that I'm sure will be less valuable when it comes time to sell because of the bad reputation for that engine. I also walked away from a MH with the Cummins engine within the wristpin serial number range. Putting a light on the dash to announce your engine is dead because of a known factory defect without any warranty service is criminal.
