Spec for the element is at 12vdc... But some of our 12vdc systems can do 14.8.... So while minimum is around 15amps max can be 18amps and up. Guess 30 ok if the wires installed can handle it. Think my fridge wires for 12vdc is 8 ga.
I find it interesting that the mfg's have reduced the wattage on the elements both 12 and 120vac... They use to be up in the 300's for 120vac... This reference linked is 195ac and 175 for the 12vdc.
