Gas Below $2

I'm surprised at some of your high prices. I double-checked your posting dates to make sure they were new posts. Only $2.349 locally. Last week I bought diesel for the same price but it's about $.05 higher this week.

Wow! Didn't realize how high gas prices were in other parts of the country.

I've been focusing most of my attention on the Gulf and SE states planning for our upcoming trip.

It's been a couple years since we did our last summer/fall roundtrip from the desert SW to the FL Keys with our toy hauler (and jetski onboard). Basically I10, I75, US1, and back. During our last trip our gas bill approached $2000 with gas prices hovering close to $4. Got our fingers crossed gas will drop to $2 on most of this route before we depart in a month or so. That'll bring our gas costs closer to $1000---nearly 1/2 what it was last time.

I was under the impression, at least here in Washington, that yearly registration fee was higher on electric cars to cover road use tax.

We have an electric Chevy Spark at my work. It does go over 50 miles on a charge, and still have plenty of power to make it back to the office for a recharge.

While they do not pay gas tax, they do not do significant damage to the roads either.

And the lack of new refineries is why gasoline and diesel fuel prices will never be lowered in lock step with lower oil prices. EPA rules and regulations put a damper on building new refineries along with lack of incentive on the petroleum corporations. Why produce more and sell for less when they can limit the supply and sell for more!

$2.29 to 2.45 here is West Central GA. Diesel is $2.49 or so. And yes, it's predicted to drop below $2 here by winter!

North Florida prices are now in the $2.20's.
