So what you guys are saying, as long as you have a diesel engine, braking, handeling don't matter. The gvwr is based on a lot more than the rating of the guy that manufactured the rear axel. I run about 500 over with my 1/2 ton 2011 chevy. I am labled unsafe. Now if I get a bigger truck and a much bigger camper and run 1000 or more over I am now safe because everybody does it? Thats what I am getting out of this. I have said this before the 2011 1/2 is more capable truck than the 2001 or 2006 3/4 I had before. More hp, better tranny, better braking. I do run load e tires on the 1/2 because of the stiffer sidewall. Have at it.
