Another mid size truck. Looks like a popular segment in Australia.
I think they are built with heavier components over there. I may be wrong though.
Thanks!

Yes a lot heavier, that is why the Mitsubishi with a small 2.4 Diesel, has more payload, than many RAM Pickup Trucks whilst towing 6,800lb
Seems you love to cherry pick. Anyone who uses a pickup truck as a pickup truck knows the 1500s are grocery getters just like the crew cab Mitsis are with useless 5' beds. My Ram 3500 SRW has a payload of 4,200lbs. No factory SRW pickup in Oz comes close and let's not even mention tow capacity or the ability to tow (and brake) 15,000lbs day in day out.
I respect the long bed Hilux and L200 pickups in ROW but let's not be claiming they can compete with a 3500 reg can long bed unless we're talking off roading or fuel economy.....
"Yes no factory SRW, Pickup would come close,
But a RAM would be useless as a Trade truck, when many basic trucks would move twice that amount.
I am comparing the Global Midsizers with "1500 grocery getters" in that sense they are miles better. That is why you would hear the crickets chirping trying to sell them here.
Where the RAM 3500 has a strong niche and why I am writing about it on RV Net, is the ability to be a good tow vehicle for Caravans and 5th Wheelers That is where their compact size, good equipment and towing ability come into their own
