I would think any ad agency could build a great ad destroying the tow specs on the Ford and Ram. That is why I thought even when Ford did not want to follow suit a couple years ago that GM should have moved forward with it. If I were the man you would not have been able find an ad that did not mention Ford's refusal to follow the towing spec.
I would also voluntarily subject the GM HD pickups to the standard. I think based on GM's 2015's ability to more than hold their own during pull offs what is there to lose? GM already has the lowest specs among the Big Three. Might as well capitalize on their performance and have a reason for having the least impressive spec sheet (in hp and torque).
