Horse Hooey! These diesel 1500 series trucks are marketed for fuel mileage alone. If they were targeting the RV market, they would have better payloads, but of course, what manufacturer concentrates on that? Only the severely uninformed buys a tow vehicle based on the manufacturers tow capacity.

If the OP was talking about towing a scamp or a couple wave runners, then different story.
