If you cannot see along the sides of the trailer in the mirror.... It isn't safe to tow, period.
There used to be some quality strap on mirrors that could be used, but I haven't seen any in use for so long, that I am not sure they are available anymore. or if they would even work with todays thin metal doors. At any rate, all of the small TVs that I see towing standard RV trailers do not have adequate mirrors... IOW, they are not safe to use as a TV for that trailer.... No wonder so many tow so slowly. They are towing blind.
Good points if you are comparing an F250 to a Colorado. But the Nissan XD is physically just as big, only 1/2 inch narrower, not enough to make a difference in mirror effectiveness.
