Yea, but they also weighed about 5500 lbs too... The Nissan weighs more than that, hence the lower payload rating.
I just read some more posts and agree. I only seen 8,800 GVWR in my first post. Then I read it only has a 4,900 rear axle rating ! That puts it back in 1/2 ton territory. It would probably still be ok with the trailer in question, but no room to move up. I guess all the options add up. My 2000 chevy had an 8,600 lb GVWR and still had 2,700 lbs of payload and it was a gasser though.
