Solar is ok,I love mine BUT it may not replace a generator! If there is either lots of tree cover or the weather is lousy the solar won't do much good. For a full summer a generator is essential IMHO.
Several have suggested renting a large propane tank, and in the circumstances you describe I think that's a great idea. It will be chilly up there.
If you choose to rent that large tank, then one option for the generator is to think about a propane conversion kit. They are available for most of the popular models. I thought about it for my campground host spot, but I have access to a gas station only about 4 miles from my campground. Although I also don't have hookups, there is a dump station in the CG, so I'm taking a portable waste tank to minimize the number of times I'll have to move the TT.
I have 100w of solar and a 4d AGM battery. The solar will completely recharge my battery if there is no tree cover. When there is it helps, but I do need to use the generator.
