- Buzzcut1Nomad IIpacked up and ready to leave in the morning for 3 days of Mt Biking and Fly Fishing in the Carson Pass Area of the Sierras. We will be boondocking as only the private campgrounds are open and those don't really interest us. Taking my medical gear as I will probably be the nearest help except for the scattered Cal Fire Stations.
- sleepyExplorerWell, Janet and I are on the road again... and will be for a month.... it's like starting over after 15 months.
As I said in my first post in this thread... go anyway, there is plenty to do.
Just ignore anything you can't change...
--------------------
There are plenty of beautiful state parks open in the east... and almost all have vacancies for people that have to have hook ups. Look for boondocking sites that won't break laws.
We talked to federal park rangers and Forest rangers yesterday and the day before as we followed US-27 north... The visitor centors and offices were locked... the 4 pm rule was in effect.
Something for you to think about... Most rangers live in houses provided as part of their jobs.
Meaning... they be living behind the the locked gates... obseving trespassers and vandilism. As citizens and as bonded law officers they still have arrest powers.
I would suggest that no one breaks any laws... including trespass.
I think that many of you will do some fantastic trip reports... on places that we'd never considered before.

We are still at Lake Powell NRA camping at a primitive area. Rangers are coming by telling everyone we need to pack up and leave by 4PM tomorrow. We were planning to go to the Grand Canyon Friday night, and they said that will be closed as well. That is the only effect to our vacation, but it still stings a bit. Plans are made well in advance and we drove a long way to get here. May be years before we get to swing by again. Oh well.
Go to the west grand canyon near Kingman on the Res.
you can even walk out on the glass walkway over the canyon. Also check out Rt 66. - Buzzcut1Nomad II

Search out state run parks, they are open.
There is nice dirt road on BLM land that goes out on the south rim to Supai from Kingman on the south rim... - wnjjExplorer II

When you have the manpower to enforce a blockade of an outdoor site, you are sending out a political statement instead of following the intent of the rule.
My thoughts exactly.
x3 - moparmaga2ExplorerMy last post got deleted, so I will not be political, just informational while still being vague.
I am currently in Moab, Ut.
There is unofficial access to the national parks (Arches, Canyonlands) around this area.
If you have a certain extremely popular 4x4 tow vehicle (hint, look in my signature), there may or may not be many many ways into these above mentioned parks.
I will say that Canyonlands park was beautiful today. - SuperchargedExplorer
