Winterized our new to us TC a few days ago due to a couple of unusual 16 degree lows nights arriving here in North Dallas. Decided to do some maintenance of the TCs Happijacs since it has sat in Truck camper warehouse for 2 years. Oiled the crank sockets with some 3:1 oil, waxed inner tubes, and removed the front motors and greased the gears with white lithium grease. Went to remove rear jack motors and noticed the inside mounting screw behind each rear jack seemed like it did not have enough clearance to back off completely before hitting back of camper? Has anyone done these rears lately and do you have to remove jacks from camper brackets to be able to grease motors?

I just looked at mine (on the rear) and I would have to remove the whole Happijac from the camper to work on it. Good luck!Bill

Looks like you will just have to unbolt the jack itself to get the motor off but you will have to do that anyway to get to the jack screw.

I thought the same thing, but there was enough room to remove the bolt.A pain in the butt getting it back in.:B

I read this here back in 2012. My previous 2012 Adventurer 86 FB the jacks inner tubes were completely rusted all the way up. Did not see this when taking delivery when dealer was raising TC up to load on truck in the pouring rain that day. Talked with Brad at Adventurer and He coordinated with Happijac to send 4 new generation nickel plated jacks and new motors under warranty which I installed. Great thread . Will keep for future maintenance.

You can create a wet environment just pull out your garden hose...lol.... the point being... you want to check to make sure your gutters are not draining onto the top of the motors. If they are you may have to get the longerdrain extensions I had to do that to mine. Be sure to get the long flexible ones not the hard plastic ones they break off too easy... and if you're in a wet environment for long periods just throw some 1 gallon Ziploc bags over the top of them just to help Safeguard getting any moisture intrusion it's worth the Peace of Mind and of course if you're storing it outside for long periods of time you definitely want to cover them.

Will do the long flexible rain spouts. Already on my xmas list. Factory spouts to short. I will be putting bags on the heads from now on . Good idea. Thanks.

Well you are all welcome. Education is what I try and give only because I have been through the fails. You learned some valuable, time saving, headache, OH ****! what do I do now??.. moments. And of course it will always fail when you need it to work yesterday or it gets stuck on the truck...Seriously take a day and tear them down and do yourself the favor. When the jack lags behind or the clutch starts rattling midway...you can tell a fail is coming. And yes a lot of those factory drains are too short and poorly placed...It's not really hard to do but well worth the cost and effort.
