I've often thought about all the energy being wasted with braking applications and exhaust braking on down grades. It's only a matter of time before our rvs will have electric drive axles to help hold...

In about 2006 I drove a Kenworth hybrid drive city tractor at the tech center. About a 260hp/1000 torques diesel / Allison with an Eaton hybrid drive motor/generator in the driveline. It skeedaddled pretty good from a “stoplight” start grossing 66,000lbs. Electric motor provided good driveline braking and was quiet.
Current EV’s have severely reduced range when towing. Too much power not enough batteries.
