Hello - we went over some very rough and bumpy asphalt today and when we got home, we noticed the window shade had fallen off the wall, pulling the mounting screws out with it.... They are too stripped to put back in. I tried putting it back with some bigger screws through the L bracket, but it wont hold the weight of the curtain/shade. What do I do??? Help Please!! -Scott

Go to a hardware store and get inserts to push into the wall with screws that spread them out.

You might try those wing nut thingy's that go in and spread open, also there are plastic ones that you insert and the screw spreads the plastic out to hold, another way would be to cut a thin piece of plywood the length of the blind top and screw it to the studs, then attach the blind to that

Try putting a toothpick or two in the screw hole and then putting some glue on the toothpicks. Then screw in the old screw and let it sit 24 hours without bothering it. You should then be okay.

OOHH OOHH Pick me Pick me!!! Take tooth picks and Elmers glue,, jamb then in the hole with Elmers on them,,,Tomorrow, use a razor blade and cut the ends flush,,Day after,, thread new screws in,,,,Better than before!!

Toothpicks will work, but I am a fan of golf tees. A bit of glue in the hole, you can "set" the tee with a slight tap of the hammer. Cut them off when dry...hole is once again solid wood.

Or you can just buy a couple wall anchors, as others have suggested. Toggles are not needed...just ask the hardware guy/gal for a couple plastic wall anchors.

what works well for me is to get that stuff that comes in a tube, is like plastacine that you work togeher then it hardens like metal. You can get it at home depot. I mix a small amount up, push it into the hole with a toothpick and leave a small pinprick to start a screw in before it hardens. Works every time and the original screws hold well.
