Honda EU3000iS vs Yamaha EF3000iSEB?

We are ready to purchase a generator. Our main reason for getting a generator is so it can run our roof top A/C unit. Please give me your experience and/or opinions comparing the Honda EU3000iS and Yamaha EF3000iSEB. I've been on their websites and compared specs, but I want personal testimony. At the moment, I am not biased or partial to one over the other. We are hoping that your feedback will sway us in one direction! Also, since we are ready to buy, let me know if there are any good deals that are currently going on. Thanks for your help!
  • That's a great chart Ron! Thanks for sharing.

I've owned a Honda 3000is for many years. I think I bought it in 2005. It's never broken down. I do routine maintenance such as oil changes every year. I've also changed the starting battery twice, and it's really easy to do. I keep gas in it at all times in case of a power outage at home, but I treat the fuel with a double dose of Sta-bil. It's never failed to start or run.
  • I have the Honda 3k and a Honda 2k. To me the 3k is a far better generator, the best I have ever owned and I've owned a bunch including the Yamaha 4k es.. The Yamaha was a good generator but wouldn't run the air over 90 degrees. I'm sure the new IS will?

Electric start on the Honda was the deal breaker for the wife. She doesn't have to yank her head of when I'm gone to start the gen.

I'm sure the Yamaha is a good one as I'm a Yamaha man from head to toe, just not in generators.

  • I have a EU3000is, I I have had for about 5 years now works just fine runs my AC just fine,,

Do not get the handi the 3000 handi it will not run your AC properly:W
It may run it under some circumstances, but, not enough Constant ..sustained Power...as the EU3000is.
  • If you are sold on red or blue, go for it, but I just bought one of these: Champion 3100W I didn't order from them since I found another source that was a few bucks cheaper, but I included the link here because it contains 44 reviews. I haven't really used mine enough for a good evaluation, but it starts good, will run my AC, isn't too heavy, isn't all that loud, and is about 1/3 the cost of red or blue.
