Yes, a new Pilot is a fine tow vehicle for a little trailer like that.
Mpg? Dunno but you’re not going to find a magic vehicle that gets significantly better mileage under the same load (within reason) unless you go diesel. - BumpyroadExplorerI towed a 3500 lb + TT with my Highlander rated for 5,000 lbs. and think your Pilot would be overkill for a tab assuming it has tow package, etc. when I bought the Pilot was rated for 5,000 lbs. if towing a boat, and 3500 lbs. for a tT. don't know current numbers.
get 22/23 mpg and 14 mpg towing.

Why?
You're taking weight off the front wheels when adding a trailer. Traction isn't as good as rear wheel to begin with.
Every Pilot in my neck of the woods is AWD. I can't vouch for Ohio where OP lives but I'd bet most are AWD there as well.
I don't disagree that a standard R/4WD truck is a better towing platform, but we're talking about an awfully small trailer here that should be no issue for a Pilot. - SamsonsworldExplorer

- jfkmkExplorerI'd be very skeptical about towing with a Pilot. Hondas have been known for very serious transmission problems with their 6 cylinder vehicles.

Welcome to the forum.
Nothing about RV'ing is energy efficient, it's not practical to worry about MPG. Really it's just a brag used mostly by diesel drivers.
Absolutely correct....except I'm a diesel driver. No bragging here... and when towing I still get horrible mileage....only difference is that the diesel tows a little better than our gasser did...(stronger).
Mileage - forget about it. - IdaDExplorerI got 15-16 towing a 3500ish lb pop up with our 2010 Pilot. A T@b would drag more air so I would expect more like 13-14. Performance wise it would be a pretty good match as long as you never wanted to up-size in the future.
- APTExplorerAerodynamics and towing speed affect fuel efficiency more than weight for anything "high walled". A Tab is more aerodynamic than traditional TT. I would budget for 12mpg towing so that you might be happy with 14ish.
