Wow, what a response. Thank you to everyone. I believe we are going out next week to look at the Jeeps and 1/2 ton pickups.
Wow, you're back! :B
You want to think
"1/2 ton" from any of the Big 3. :)
Since this discussion has been so much about the Honda Ridgeline, if you're not absolutely set on brand new why not take a look around for a good, low mileage Chevy Avalanche? I've owned both a Silverado and an Avalanche and of the two, for personal use as an incredibly versatile family vehicle, I'd give the nod to our Av which carries 4 in total comfort, 5 with 3 on back seat, or even 6 in a pinch. It's fully enclosed, locking cargo compartment is invaluable, especially when we're on a camping trip, and it has a mid gate that can be lowered to allow carrying a full 4' x 8' sheet. It's 130" wheelbase is also shorter than a crew cab Silverado, F150, or Ram so it's
much easier to back a trailer into a tight campsite than with a longer wheelbase vehicle yet long enough for towing a trailer up to ~ 30' in length without issue. An Avalanche can do anything for you that a Ridgeline could but better, in
every way. :B
