If you are good in math, you can try to calculate that at certain speed increase, the time you save on coming sooner will be taken for more frequent fueling.
Meaning your trip will take the same time, but you will burn more fuel.
I never tried high speeds for long time, but rough estimate is that going 1000 miles at 65 comparing to 80 will give you the same time of arrival, but with much lighter wallet.

80 where allowed on Idaho and Utah freeways and when not too windy. If there were no limits, I think 80 would still suit.

Out on the open road under ideal conditions, I still keep my speed in the 65 mph range. I typically settle into a relaxed position, use cruise control and listen to an audiobook. If I get bored, I would listen to Sirius radio, typically some music, talk radio, or Bloomberg. I can drive that way for hours and not be stressed. I don't need to cover the maximum distance in the minimum time. My goal is a relaxing, enjoyable trip where I can also look at the scenery. Added benefits include decent fuel mileage, a safer ride and less heat, wear, and stress on the tires. I also have found that driving in segments helps. I typically drive about 3-4 hours, stop for a short break which might include a meal and a nap. I can easily handle 3 segments like that per day for a total of around 700 miles in a day. I typically arrive at my overnight area relaxed, ready for a little walking or other exercise and a laptop movie.

You're definitely not in Pennsylvania

I never did a test, but I don't think it takes much of the speed to push the water "uphill" on camper nose. Probably in 20 mph range.
Each engine is having its "sweet spot" so it is worth doing some test.
My truck, camper combo while going from 60 to 65 mph cruise control setting would
go from 12 to 10 mpg, what at the time translated to about $40 in extra fuel cost for each 1 hr gained by driving faster.

I was curious as we just came home from a 11 day, 2500 mile jaunt with our new to us Lance camper. Many of the freeways had 80mph speed limits. The truck runs fine at that speed and the fuel mileage drops a lot. It feels very stable and safe at that speed.

On the way home today, we had heavy rain as well. I was curious if it is asking too much of a truck camper, specifically the area with a window, to repel that kind of wind and rain.

I'm willing to give up the fuel mileage. What I don't want to do is cause the camper to leak more as a result of doing 80mph on a freeway.

55-65mph is my typical speed whether I tow something or not behind the camper.
