How important are my "must haves"?

Take a look at the Rockwood Mini Lite and the identical Flagstaff Micro Lite trailers. They both offer 6 C.F. refrigerators and come in several sizes and configurations. Good luck!

If by a full size fridge you mean like the residential one you have at your house you not going to get it in a 23 footer, maybe a 8 cubic footer max. But it will have a separate fridge and freezer. And maybe no outside kitchen. :(

neither the Open Range line nor the Mini-Lite nor the Micro-Lite lines offer any hybrid TT's.
thought the Roo is from Rockwood and the Shamrock is from Flagstaff.

mnmbeck, don't think your husband has a clear picture of 23'+ hybrids nor ones with slideouts.

we own a Roo 23SS, which has a 12' superslide and is 24'6" long.
we dry camp about 90% of the time, in California state parks which are notorious for having smaller and shorter campsites.

we have NEVER had an issue in secluded wooded campsites. we love all the interior storage space that the 23SS offers over any hybrid like the 20E or 21SS. though the 21SS's slideout is deeper than ours.

we even camped in the infamous tight/twisty Burlington campground, in Humboldt Redwoods State Park.

i would check the lengths of some of your favorite campsites are before you count out something a little bigger than 23'.

I love the smaller trailers -They tow easy, gas up easy, and will usually go anywhere my 4WD truck will take it.

If wwe ever go bigger I think the 24-26 size trailer will be our maximum. We almost went for the JAYCO X213 to try out the hard wall sides a few years but never quite did it...

Our OFF-ROAD POPUP series has all the things on it we like to do and it gets GREAT GAS MILEAGE. My 2010 F150 Truck gets the same 19-21 MPG whether we are pulling the OFF-RoAD POPUP or not. Thats pretty good having 450-500 miles range on the truck. No wind resistance I guess...

We can make it from here in VA to Gatlinburg TN (439 miles) with gas to spare haha... For some reason all of our road trips always go thru Gatlinburg TN...

Here is our 21ft bunkhouse hybrid. Sleeps 6 easily with nobody on the dinette. No u dinette to climb over or worry about exceeding payload (CCC 1600lbs).
You do not need a large awning, or screenroom. They are often impacted by trees, or not worth the time to setup.


Pup camping with a bag awning is PITA, and I want to block that experience from my memory.

I need to utilize sites with enough clearance to fit a side tent and awning. It comes down to inches sometimes.

Lots of variables here....you want to stay at 23' or less. Are you thinking the box only or bumper to ball...a huge difference. We had a 23SS and the logic would be that it was 23'....no so. No clue how the manufacturers assign model numbers...as it happens, our Ultra Lite 2604 actually IS 26'4" BOX, but roughly 30' bumper to ball.

Re the frig....I would absolutely NOT consider a TT or HTT without the 6cu ft size. You'll find even that size will fill up fast enough. Also, many of the smaller size do not have a separate freezer, but just one inside the box. You'll find that you really do need that freezer space. Would be a major deal breaker for me.

After having our 23SS for going on 8 seasons, I can't remember for sure if the awning was full length, but think essentially so. Seems like it was something like 18' and that was pretty much full length. Our TT is full length. Guess that depends on how you camp and how much outside space you want, but we prefer full length.

The ROO has the outside grill with the bar attachment. You'll find some who hate it and some who love it....we loved it and used it virtually every trip. Our Rockwood TT has the same and gets equal use. Personally see no purpose, for us, for a full outside kitchen....not to mention not sure any hybrid has such a set up.

If you find that that ROO 23SS will fit in your space, highly recommend that model. It has plenty of functional storage space and a wonderful layout. Hard to beat the kitchen area in that model. I miss that space in our TT, but getting used to just doing things differently. The 21SS is also a very popular model and has a nice, deep slide....although limited kitchen space. Just depends on how you camp. Neither bathroom is something you'll get terribly excited over, but functional.

Don't think you'll find much, if any, difference in maneuvering a 20" vs a 23' trailer. Unless I've missed it, you don't mention your tow vehicle. Check and double check your towing specs and allow plenty of wiggle room - about 1000# over your max weight. WDH and sway for sure. Good luck and happy shopping.

you don't have the most important things in your list of must haves. what is the construction, roof material, rubber, TPO, alum., FG etc.
and a grill that mounts on the side of the RV, wouldn't want that myself but I do have the gas outlet for a remote one.

I don't think you'll find one with an awning over an outdoor kitchen (unless you were talking only about a bumper mounted grill).
