Another piece of experience. Here in Washington the solar panel does little in Winter. Short days, poor sun angle, constant cloud cover, and camping in trees means that I don't get much from my 150 watt solar panel. Frankly doubling the solar still wouldn't help much either as 2x very little is still little. Winter also puts much more demand on the power usage as days are short and you are running more lights along with the furnace. Summer and eastern WA is another story completely.
