I nearly killed the other camp sites kid Screwin' with..

I come back from the beach... And find this 5-6 yr old pressing the activation button my my jacks... I yell at him., snatch him up and take him to his dad... I now have one bent arm! On my brand new rig... The dad gave me $200... Said sorry and throttled his kid. LOL it was nice to see some discipline dished out for once

It is a lippert jack, looks like the unit comes apart... Motor first, then a plate that captures the drive screw... Then the screw and jack unit comes out. Where do I get a new arm? Call lippert? I m, sure warranty won't cover this...

Just dandy.....

    That’s exactly why I installed a cutoff switch (inside the storage bay) on the fifth wheel I had.

    I am surprised the dad did that...more dad's need to do that.

    As a Mom of 3 boys this stuff drives me crazy. I see more and more kids in the parks these days completely un-supervised. Just a couple weeks ago we found ourselves having to yell at some kids as we left Mossyrock State Park because they were riding their bikes right next to the truck and trailer as we were trying to maneuver our way out of there. We constantly had children running through our campsite getting the dogs wound up. Some of these children make my kids look like angels.

    Just ordered two cutoffs... Fused... My wiring is outside. I'll put them in the frame,,

    Gotta disagree here. More dads should play with their kids instead of just turning them loose. Then the damage and beating are both avoided.

    For the OP, you may wish that you'd gotten insurance info instead of cash. I've heard those legs are expensive to replace.

    I tend to agree... But in this case... This kis kid is out of control... Dad was holding up his rig, mom is helping. The other two are patiently waiting... And this is a military family. We had some suds and a good campfire the night before.

    The kid needed a throttle... I play with my kids... But I expect them to behave. Period. I didn't ask for cash. He offered it up. Seeing a new jack unit is 4-600bucks, I thought it was fair...

    Just seeing that the throttled the kid would make me feel better about only getting $200. If he let the kid get away with it with no discipline, I would want the full $600. If you aren't smart enough to discipline your kids, you deserve to pay more.

    Sounds like the father took responsibility, and the kid has learned not to tamper with other people's things ( at least in this case). I hope you can get it fixed without spending much more.

    We were at a KOA from Thursday until today. Thursday day most of Friday was great. Friday evening and allay Saturday we watched small children run and ride their bikes through camp sites. Never seen a parent. One little guy maybe 4 or 5 years old rode a three wheeler up and down the main road and we never saw anyone checking on him. When we were kids all we wanted to do was ride on asphalt. Now all they want to do is ride on grass and dirt. I agree parent should spend time with their kids instead of thinking of all other campers as baby sitters.

    Next to our site, there were two boys and a little girl. Parents would hang out inside the rig and let them play outside. I was annoyed as the kids were annoying, plus I am not a baby sitter. I was laughing to myself when they were playing with their parents sewer hose... he he he
