What wrong with those tires towing a trailers? :B He would have zero sidewall wobble with those tires. Plus there is no sidewall to rupture and blowout. :R

17's...19's...20's...were laughable on TV's back around 2007 when I
took these pictures...they are now standard OEM TV faire and driven by the
fashion statement crowd.

Cruising the local boulevard running errands when came across these
guys parked in a handicap spot. Is this a H1 or H2...I'm not into these
things

Stopped and asked and all they could do was exclaim how wonderful he
is able to afford the VERY expensive VR tires (P class)...asked about
lowering their ground clearance with that step and they looked at me
like I was crazy...they would NEVER take this off pavement

I saw an mid 90's Honda Accord towing about an 20 foot TT.

But when I saw it the hitch of the TT was on the pavement and stuffed halfway under the car.
The Honda Accord was now a Honda Accordion.

Evidently he didn't have a brake controller because the front end of the car was about a foot and a half shorter when he couldn't stop and plowed into the back of the guy in front of him.

A Montana with one of the new half tons is probably close to if not within the trucks ratings. Don't forget a trucks tow rating is based on continuous duty. Towing over the reccomended rating is simply going to wear the truck out faster.

I have passed lots of folks towing small/medium sized trailers with one ton trucks that had no business towing let alone driving-

The retired folks who hit the road with no towing experience are the ones that scare me.

And amazingly, everyone survived and maybe even had a good time!

Seriously, I do kinda enjoy walking around the campground and observing the combos -- you see all kinds of stuff.

Just yesterday I saw a Honda Ridgeline towing a tandem axle enclosed trailer that was at least 30 feet long, and very tall. The axles had been flipped, like you would do when towing such a trailer with a truck that has been lifted considerably higher than stock height. No weight distributing hitch. Just a ball mount with at least a 12" rise to it, and the trailer was still slightly nose down toward the vehicle. Wouldn't want to be anywhere near that mentally challenged guy on the freeway.

my brother in law used a ford ranger to pull a 29 ft with a slide out and his back bumper was a mere inch off the ground. Oh yes, forgot, he did not believe in WDH either. I have no explanation other than he is nuts.

I lost count of the number of combos I've seen that make me shake my head. The one that sticks out in my head the most was a long time ago. It was a second generation Chrysler mini-van towing a 24' or Airstream with no W/D hitch. Needless to say he was pretty much dragging the back end on the road.
