Jayco JayFeather Delamination on Front Bed

We purchased a 2011 Jayco JayFeather. After washing the camper we noticed the first signs of delamination on the outside pull down portion of the bed. We immediately contacted an RV repair company who recaulked the entire area including the seam where we were seeing delamination. The caulking is pulling away where the delamination has occurred. The inside of the bed is dry and there are no signs of leakage. We are going to get the area recaulked but should we be concerned about using the camper in the meantime? Thanks in advance for your help.
  • If the seam you refer to is the bottom of the door where the bottom horizontal extrusion meets the fiberglass of the door exterior, the caulking will split open every time you use the door. Those doors are made by Lippert and they had issues in that area back around 2010 /11. Then they changed the hinge design but I have never heard of them standing behind the problem doors, or doing anything for anyone who had them. All you can do is recaulk the bottom seam when it splits, or replace with a newer version of the door which is not cheap to do.
