Thanks for the info guys.
The issue is North America wide. I have confirmed with higher up in Ford that orders for the Max Payload option have been cancelled. It is not just me. It was also confirmed the order was placed at the correct time, and if these issues did not occur then my truck would have been built. They have said there is a frame production issue and the max payload frames will not be produced to ensure adequate production for the "higher volume" regular frames.
This has nothing to do with the dealer. Their search and mine has located one base XLT truck with the max payload package with no amenities in Canada....
My hitch is a weight distributing type and I am slightly over estimating the weight just to be sure, but at minimum hitch weight is 1000 lbs. On another note my trailer is stuck at a repair facility taking care of a rodent issue that occurred during the winter storage.... It just never ends. When I get it back I can measure the tongue weight to be sure.
To get 2000+ pounds of payload from any other manufacturer I would be going with a HD model which will be heavier, and have a more thirsty engine.
I don't trust the ecoboost engines and their longevity. They also need more frequent maintenance (plug interval changes, etc) to run efficiently. I'm ok with the 5.0 V8!
One of the main reasons for the new F150 is the aluminum body. Up in Canada that means less chance of parasitic corrosion (no chance of rust).
It comes down to if a dealer will put a regular F150 with the options I want on the scales for me so I can determine the real payload, or waiting for the 2016's...
I'm leaning to the latter.
