2015 Silverado NHT with the LTZ trim package and the 6.2 NA monster would be about 2,000 ish lbs of payload as well.
True that the aluminum doesn't rust...that doesn't mean that the aluminum will not corrode. It can and will corrode if the circumstances are right. basically, if you get two dis-similar metals touching it will corrode once it's actually metal on metal.
Right now we are in wait and see mode to see how well the new F150 bodies hold up over time...I suspect that they will be fine...but I'm not a big fan of beta testing things like this.
JMHO...but the EcoBoost is proven now. We are nearly five years in and there are lots and lots of 2011 and 2012's with 150 plus K and they seem to be holding up just fine.
I like the 5.0 and its a fine choice...but the body...that's the question mark for me.
