I have a 2015 GMC with the 5.3, max tow package (7600 lb GVWR). On the scale I have 1780 lbs payload with me in it. I am not sure what guys think a truck should tie like but I can run 105 k/hr on flat and hills towing our trailer and its 9100 lbs loaded for the week at 1200 lbs hitch weight. Loaded with mama and the little one we have 450 lbs available payload. For the bit of driving with the trailer we do 3000 k a year, get the truck you like to drive everyday and make sure you'll have enough payload to be safe, load and go!
