Keystone Passport Roof

We had the same thing happen to our Jay Flight. It was actually some of the plywood "splintering" upwards. Jayco stepped up and allowed for the entire roof to be replaced under warranty, and there was only two very small spots. Jayco has a true two year warranty and I had three months left on it. I was VERY surprised they signed off on it.

However, if your unit is passed it's one year warranty by Keystone it sounds like your on your own. The longer warranty on the roof by the manufacture is just for the rubber membrane itself.

I would cut it, fix what's sticking up and patch with Enternabond. Even with mine being under warranty I still had to think long and hard about letting them replace it for something so minor. It all depends on your dealer.

Consider trying a different dealer. My dealer is very concerned about his reputation and really goes to bat to make sure the manufacturer honors its warranty. He buys from them, he's their customer, they don't want to lose his business. He doesn't want to lose my business... It's good business practice to honor warranties and stand behind your product though many take the easy or cheap way out. Not good in the long run. Good luck!

Of course the dealer and Keystone are going to say it's your fault.

It could be construction debris or it could be screws or staples backing out.

Document everything...and good luck with it.

If the old material is removed, be sure to video tape the situation closely to document that there was "stuff" on the wood? that did the poking up. with recorded narrative, "now I will peel back the next 6 inches of roofing and we will see what exactly is under that material".

Sounds like junk left on the roof before they installed it .
