- downtheroadExplorerInteresting question: We have a Komfort. It's our 4th trailer. Other 3 were a different manufacturer. (Trail-Lite, Fleetwood Prowler, etc) The Komfort is BY FAR the best quality. It is also much heavier.
Ours was manufactured in Clackamus, Oregon. I think the Dutchman is now made in the mid-west??
I haven't seen one to compare. I will follow this thread.
(sorry I couldn't answer your question directly). - coolbreeze01ExplorerToo bad about Komfort. We sure enjoyed the one we had.

- timone111ExplorerWe have 2013 24rk,have had numerous problems including axels out of line.It is now in shop to repaint gel cap because of defective paint. We contacted keystone(they now own Dutchman) and luckly they ageed to pay up to $1,500 to have it fixed.
- RollandBExplorerWhile I have has several Komforts going back 20+ years, from what I hear the new ones aren't near the same as the ones 10+ years ago. My current one is an 05 291FSG and well made. Friday will be it's first trip out for this season and we can't wait.
- ReneeGExplorerWe had a Komfort 282TS, 32' overall in length, purchased brand new back in 2006. It was very well made, high quality, and heavy as noted. 11K fully loaded.
- rbpruExplorer IIThor and Forest River now own most of the TT brands. Five or six years ago when the RV market was very depresses and they were able to purchase, merge and streamline, many of the companies that were going broke. If you pull up their web sites you can see all the brands each company now owns.
There are still a few independent companies that rode out lean times but many did not.
Now the RV industry had rebounded and they can sell all they can make. What this means for price and quality is yet to be seen. :@
We do know that the TT market is extremely cost competitive and the majority of the consumers seem happy with the present situation. So, there is not much incentive for the manufactures to invest time and materials into a really high end product.
Add to this the increased demands on tow vehicle, performance, safety and gas mileage and I do not see any drastic change in the RV market in the short term. - timone111ExplorerKomfort is now out of business
