Open air? Cut, spliced, joined with wire nuts, taped. Same as I've done a number of time in the past in farm buildings.

Or, find a white outlet.
I think the color of your existing off-white outlet is called "Ivory".

All your pictures are gone/deleted. Can't see what you did.

All closed up but I can explain it better than it would show. In the picture showing under the step to the bunk, I could see that the leftmost Romex was serviced by a 15 amp breaker which is what I needed. As close to the middle of what was relatively free, I spliced in the cable that would eventually lead to the new outlet. Connected everything with wire nuts and secured with tape. If you'd like, I could sketch out a diagram.

I'd like to see a picture of where/how you tied in.

They're commonly called "Goof Plates". Trust me, they're easy to find.

I doubt I can count the number of those I could have used over my last 65 years! Thanks.
