Why do I have the two brochures yet?
We had ordered a new 1997 Lance Squire 4000 Ex Cab optioned out to go on our 2500 LB pickup and a new 1997 Lance Legend 990 with all options to go on our 3500 dually truck. Well, we used the 4000 for many years until we sold it to a friend in 2009 and it had over 140,000 miles of total travel including Alaska a couple times and all over the USA and Canada. It was an excellent TC, very comfortable, and never needed any repairs and NO leaks ever, period.
The 990 Legend optioned out (loaded and is very heavy plus being much longer) was placed in inside storage after only one short trip as my wife couldn't take the jolts with her severe back and neck issues when riding the heavily sprung dually truck, so we also sold the truck as we also had the 4000 TC and the softer riding 2500. The 990 Legend sat in inside storage with all the original plastic film protection film still on including the plastic over the carpet for 11 years and was still a totally new TC in 2009 when taken out of storage to use.
After her many operations and our purchase of a new ordered 2500 HD diesel truck which was then upgraded to a 3500 plus SRW and had added fully adjustable airbags, we decided to give the 990 a try on the diesel truck before we sold the Squire 4000 in 2009. It handled, drove, and rode great and still does and we have more than 70,000 miles now of driving with first the 4000 on it and then the 990 on it the last 4-1/2 years. Much of those miles were with either our 2150# boat or our 3500# vee nose enclosed trailer with her needs and our toys etc in it behind the TC. That's of course when the truck wasn't being used to pull our 5th wheels.
I have kept nearly all the brochures of the RV's, Boats, vehicles, etc we have owned. They've come to be quite handy.
It appears that in mid model year 1998, Lance offered attachable fillers on each side for the rear area of the 3000 to fiil the void for use on a SB truck and must have called it a 3100 model. That was after my 1998 brochure was printed. I do remember there being that option for some of the Lance models back then but not sure which models they were as I don't have that particular brochure in my possession.
