I have the original Lance Brochure for 1996 and 1998 abd in the squires, there's no 3100 ec listed. There's a 3000, 4000, 5000, 8000, and 9000. The ec refers to Extended Cab meaning N/S Queen Bed. Here's the spec for the 1998 Lance Squire 3000 direct from the brochure:
Floor Length 8'6"
Width 93"
Interior Height 6' 8-1/2"
FW tank 33 gal
GWT 11 gal
BWT 12 gal
LP Tanks 2/5 gal 20# ea
Dry Wt 2130# W/Std Features, add weight for optional equipment
Length Overall 16' 4"
Center of Gravity 68" (measured from point of contact of truck tail light) - Reelescape1ExplorerGenerally the distance from rear of truck, where camper stops,to rear axle is the same SB or LB.
- billyray50ExplorerThanks Roy..I think that first photo is D3500ram's TC/truck.
- RoyBExplorer III suspect the way it drops down in the back that it will only slide up so far in the longer truck bed and then you would have a gap between the pass thru window and the rear window of the truck.... Shouldn't be a NO BIG DEAL there... You could fashion a sealed boot of some sort if you really wanted one...
Here is google photo of what someone did with his shorter truck camper. Looks like a stable install to me...
Depending on what is installed near the centerline of the rear wheels may be an issue of having extra weight behind the rear wheels???
If this works out for you I would really enjoy having that extra storage space between the camper and the truck - looks like a good 12-inches or more of usable space for something..
Here is another google photo of a short camper in a long bed truck. This guy has a tool box I think stored in the opened up area.
This one looks like a gas can stored in the open space...
Roy Ken - billyray50ExplorerJust emailed Lance. Hope I get a response.
- billyray50ExplorerYeah that is the ad in question. Emailed owner back and forth but he is not sure.
- RoyBExplorer IIAll I found on a quick google search was this one listed with info saying for a short bed truck. I guess mounting in a long bed you would have a gap between the truck and camper. Might be a good hiding place for something to store.
"Lance Truck Camper, 1998 Squire 3100 ec. Bought new in 1999. Extra Clean Condition, 8' 6" for short bed truck with 6' Bed, etc .... "
