Lance 830 Solar PreWire

Anyone know where the solar wires are in a Lance 830? Thanks.

They are in the upper dinette storage cabinet on the drivers side. There is a box on the upper right side of that cabinet that has the wires - one blue (pos+) and one white (neg-). The same blue wire is bundle up in the battery compartment and the white ground wire is allready connected to the main grounding block. This was on a 2008 830. Just did a 100w panel and sunsaver duo controller, so let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you very much Smooth1. Mine is 2011, should be same. We'll see. Gman

    That's where mine were.
  • Lance uses thin 12ga wiring so IF you can find a 34 volt panel instead of a 17 volt one there will be less current loss. Alternative is to wire two 17v panels in series.

The most difficult part of my installation was mounting the panels on the Lance TPO roof which consists of a very thin plastic membrane over 1/4" luan. Not the kind of roof where you can screw down brackets or use VHB tape.

I made a frame that I attached to the side corner sections of the camper. The easiest approach is to bolt the panels to the factory roof rack (which is attached to the side corners of the camper) if your camper has one.

  • I don't have solar but my Lance 845 came with a factory adaptor plug. A black wire about 20" long with a plug on each end. One end plugs into a small rubber capped plug on the campers roof . (it has a small white weather proof rubber cap on it) the other end plugs into the panel.
All my Wiring is harnessed together in a cluster of a mess behind my Stereo/DVD player. One of those wires is the solar wire that comes down from the roof.
