Lance Camper Walls

Lance campers often have electrical wiring in the walls... sometimes for the campers rumming lights
sometimes for lights at the head of the bed... wiring including speakr wires, etc.

I have had Lance email shematics and drawings of the stuctural members over the years to keepfrom hittling the wires,,,

When people drill and screw theu often make expensive mistakes... the worst on is when people add bump stops to the front of their campersbulkhead... I've seen lag screws driven into the water tank. (That was at the Lance Customer servace center... the very slow leak rotted out the base of the camper that sits in the trucks bed.

I use coarse thread dry wall screws for everything. The hold well and I dont have to worry about the "sticky stuff" letting loose and things falling down. If you do have to remove something the small holes can be filled in with a putty stick.

I gave up on the shelf and just put the velcro on the remotes and hang them directly on the wall.

ticki2, I haven't used anything that worked. I used some 'industrial' strength double-stick tape. Double-stick hook and eye tape. 3-M Command strips. I'm trying to hang a small shelf to hold various remote controls (radio, tv, satellite).

There was another thread just started addressing the same issue.

It's not clear what the attaching system you are trying to use , hooks , taping directly to the wall,...? Perhaps a picture would help .

3M foam core auto trim and molding tape sticks to almost anything .

Some good options in a couple of the recent posts. I had hopes of some type of semi-permanent mounting but that doesn't appear to be possible.

I find areas of the wall that has backing already in place and use screws. Well-nuts are another option but you need a 1/2" hole for an 8/32 screw. I have used Liquid Nails construction adhesive to mount either wood or HDPE and then screwed into these panels to attach items.

It doesn't matter if you let it set for 24 hours. It just won't stick to whatever Lance uses for wall covering. I've had the same issue with my 1998 Lance 945. I ended up using screws.

I believe the command adhesive strips are suposed to be in place for 24 hours before any use. Don't quote me on this but I thought I read that somewhere.
